Concord, ON (October 29, 2010) - ITS Electronics Inc. (www.itselectronics.com) has been selected by General Dynamics SATCOM Technologies to supply Ka-band Solid State Power Amplifiers (SSPAs) with integrated Block Up Converters (BUCs) for the company‟s SATCOM-on-the-Move™ (SOTM™) terminals.
As a member of the ITS Cool BUCTM family, these products are designed to meet ARSTRAT requirements and deliver high linear performance within stringent size and weight specifications, high power efficiency and unmatched phase noise in demanding "on-the-move‟ environments.
SATCOM Technologies‟ SOTM terminals offer robust, secure and nonsecure video, voice and data wideband satellite communications from vehicles in motion over rugged terrain. The terminals are field-proven in demanding off-road, combat operational conditions and will be deployed in theaters of operation worldwide.
"SATCOM Technologies is a key supplier to the U.S. Department of Defense for satellite communications, so ITS is naturally pleased to provide an essential component for the SOTM terminal" says Ilya Tchaplia, Founder, President and Chief Technology Officer of ITS Electronics. "And we are proud that ITS is supplying the block up converters and transceivers for the SATCOM-on-the-Move terminals for the armed forces."
The product currently being delivered to SATCOM Technologies is a 16-Watt Ka-band SSPA with integrated BUC, which is the core technology in the ITS family of Ka-band products, including 25-Watt, 40-Watt, 50-Watt, and 120W models.
ITS Electronics Inc. is a leading global supplier of advanced microwave and millimeter wave solid state power amplifiers, frequency converters, transceivers, radio and intelligent wireless subsystems for commercial, government and defense customers.
