Position Overview
This individual is responsible for the planning and purchasing of raw material supporting production at ITS facility. This position will manage select suppliers to ensure on time delivery at competitive pricing while managing inventory levels to prevent shortages.
Position Duties
- Review and understand requisition requirements.
- Issue requests for quotes/proposals (RFQ/RFP) & select best source based on compliance with technical requirements, cost, quality, and delivery requirement.
- Price negotiation and purchasing of various electronic components, mechanical parts and other materials used in electronic assembly
- Establish delivery schedules for suppliers and monitor progress.
- Generate Purchase Orders to suppliers.
- Follow-up and expediting of supplier deliveries
- Manage supplier relationship
- Serve as a link between Planning, Receiving, Quality, and Manufacturing.
- Competent using Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word programs
- Must be “hands on” with strong problem solving expertise.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to details.
Essential Qualifications
- 1-2 years experience with purchasing of electronics components. Preferable with experience from Printed Circuit Board Assembly.
- Enthusiastic, detail and solution oriented, task focused, self motivated.
- Able to work under minimal supervision
- Good oral and written communication skills
