Embedded Software Engineer

Main Duties

  • Design and develop embedded software for new products
  • Maintain and support software in existing products

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience developing low-level embedded software in C and Assembly on microcontroller based platforms
  • Strong knowledge of RTOS and real-time software principles
  • Experience with MCU communication interfaces (RS-232/485, SPI, I2C) and peripheral devices (ADCs, DACs, Flash ROM, Sensors)
  • Experience with TCP/IP networking
  • Familiarity with hardware level debugging (scopes, meters…). Able to understand schematics and device datasheets
  • Experience with all stages of Software Development Life Cycle (Requirements, Design, Coding, Verification, Configuration Management)
  • Excellent English technical writing skills
  • Strong attention to detail

Nice to Have

  • Experience with RTCA DO-178B certification
  • LabView development experience
  • Windows GUI development experience

Senior RF Design Engineer

ITS Electronics would be interested in receiving resumes for the position of Senior RF Design Engineer

Primary responsibilities will include design, development, documentation, integration, testing, and manufacturing support of various RF modules and systems, with main emphasis on solid state RF power amplifier modules and systems, operating at frequencies ranging from L-band through Ka-band. Successful candidate will work with other engineers, managers, marketing, production control, quality and manufacturing groups, to develop and manufacture new products based on customer specifications and market requirements. The candidate may be required to lead an RF design team with a focus on design to cost and schedule goals.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • RF circuit design & analysis
  • RF circuit board design and PCB layout
  • Supporting development of system architecture
  • Defining RF hardware design requirements based on system-level specifications
  • Testing and debugging RF modules and systems
  • Preparing technical documentation
  • Estimating RF hardware design tasks, identifying risks, and planning development
  • Conducting internal/external design reviews
  • Interact with internal and external engineering teams
  • Leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams on new technology development

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Electronic or Electrical Engineering in a field of radio communication
  • Thorough knowledge of electro-magnetic and RF and Microwave theory
  • Ten years experience with RF and microwave design, including RF power amplifiers design from component level, module or sub-assembly level, up to RF system level in the aerospace, defense and/ or microwave industry
  • Experience with designs for frequencies up to 40 GHz
  • Knowledge of GaN devices technology is required. Familiarity with LDMOS devices is a plus
  • Proficient with RF modeling software tools such as ADS, HFSS or AWR Microwave Office
  • Fluent in creating RF power budgets, working with Smith charts and
    matching techniques, filtering techniques for emissions control and other
    related skills for successful RF design
  • Proficiency with schematic Capture and PCB Layout tools such as ORCAD and PADS
  • Strong knowledge of RF PCB layout techniques
  • Familiar with prime power budgets, thermal designs and protection circuits
  • Strong knowledge of automated parametric control circuits design (ALC, AGC loops, analog and digital)
  • Highly proficient in using all RF instrumentation (spectrum analyzers,
    network analyzers, RF signal generators, RF power meters, etc.)
  • Good understanding of analog, digital and power management systems (DC-DC
    converters, OPAMP circuits, digital logic, embedded microcontrollers, etc.)
  • Experience with various modulation techniques (QPSK, QAM, FSK, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of passive waveguide and coaxial components theory and practical applications
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint, plus familiar with MS Project software
  • Familiarity with the MIL-STDs is essential
  • Good interpersonal skills and experience working in a team environment

Senior Electronics Design Engineer

Primary responsibilities will include design, development, documentation, integration, testing, and manufacturing support of monitor and control hardware and power supply subsystems for various RF and microwave products and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Design, development, modification and analysis of complex electronic hardware and/or systems
  • Work with other engineers and managers, marketing, production control, quality and manufacturing groups to develop requirements, specifications, & test plans
  • Recommend design approaches to meet requirements on new or existing products
  • Work with procurement and suppliers to build prototype circuit boards
  • Perform test, bring-up and debugging of electronic subsystems
  • Coordinate with other functional engineers to develop, test, and integrate systems
  • Diagnose complex faults in existing systems and recommend design changes to improve performance
  • Conduct independent technical investigations to improve system performance or solve difficult system issues
  • Follow internal process to ensure conformance to established policies and procedures
  • Provide timely production support and problem resolution
  • Produce timely status reports
  • Prioritize and manage multiple projects to specification and budget requirements

Qualifications

  • M.Sc. in Electrical/Electronics Engineering
  • 10+ years experience with Electronics and Embedded Systems hardware design, including (but not limited to) experience in the following technology areas;
  • Basic understanding of RF design principles
  • Solid knowledge of EMC/EMI fundamentals
  • Experience integrating hardware systems with FPGAs and/or embedded processors
  • Advanced PCB- and system-level troubleshooting experience
  • Knowledge about electronics manufacturing and DFM best practices
  • Expert user knowledge of high-speed oscilloscopes, signal generators, logic analyzers, spectrum and/or network analyzers

RF/ Microwave Technicians/Technologist

  • As an RF/Microwave Technician/Technologist you will perform DC and RF circuit testing to various microwave components. Your ability to operate microwave test equipment will allow you to align and troubleshoot down to component level.
  • Your ability to comprehend and interpret schematic, assembly and wire drawings will allow you to test prototypes and production units to customer’s specifications.
  • You must have a diploma as an electronics technician or technologist, be a quick learner and work efficiently under minimal supervision.
  • You are proficient in various software applications and your excellent communication and interpersonal skills allow you to be a great team player, liaising with the Engineering and Assembly Departments.
  • Three to five years’ experience in this field is preferable for applicants for this position. Experience with Hybrid Microwave technology is a bonus.

Quality Control Inspector

ITS Electronics would be interested in receiving resumes for the position of Quality Inspector

Main duties:

  •  QC inspection ( incoming inspection of machined metal parts, board assemblies )
  •  in-process inspection of integrated assemblies
  •  final inspection of assembled products

Requirements:

  • Canadian citizen preferred
